Meet Daniel Ferguson, Construction Operations Manager at Visibuild

Starting out at global tier 1 building contractor Multiplex, working as a project coordinator, Dan then played a key role during Kapitol Group’s early days as Assistant Project Manager. Deciding to pivot from hands-on construction roles he moved to PwC to provide strategic project advisory. Most recently, Daniel was at Alvarez & Marsal, focusing on risk management and value maximisation in infrastructure projects.
What excites you the most about taking on the role of Operations Manager at Visibuild?
There is far too much data that is generated on construction projects that either does not get collected in a meaningful way or does not get used to create meaningful insights. Within this data lies an incredible amount of untapped potential that can be harnessed to create tangible improvements in quality and productivity. I think it’s important to be a part of change, and this role gives me the opportunity to tackle problems that underpin some of the construction industry and the economy’s greatest challenges. That excites me.
There’s so much untapped potential in the data generated on construction projects — the opportunity to turn it into real improvements in quality and productivity is what excites me most.”
— Daniel Ferguson, Operations Manager, Visibuild
How would you describe your leadership style?
My leadership style is collaborative and purpose-led. By finding a problem that I’m personally passionate about and building an aligned team around it, I can operate and lead with a sense of genuinity. I also believe that collaboration is key to succeeding in any team environment, so I strive to be the best collaborator I can be!
Fun fact!
Although I’m Australian, I didn’t live here until I was 18. I spent my childhood as an expatriate in Malaysia and the Middle East.
